OVERVIEWWhat Does The Chevrolet P1626 Code Mean?
Engine started; and the PCM detected a loss of the “fuel enable” signal or an incorrect signal from the VTD module. The BCM produces the Theft Deterrent “fuel enable” signal when the key is “on” and the proper key resistor pellet is sensed.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The Chevrolet P1626 Code?
- The most likely cause of this code is lost communications
- If the engine starts and stalls, refer to VTD system diagnosis
- Perform the Powertrain Onboard Diagnostic System Check
How Can You Fix The Chevrolet P1626 Code?
Inspect for the following:
- Poor terminal connection.
- Damaged harness.
- Inspect the PCM and the engine grounds for
clean and secure connections.
Important: Remove any debris from the connector surfaces before servicing a component. Inspect the connector gaskets when diagnosing or replacing a component. Ensure that the gaskets are installed correctly. The gaskets prevent contaminate intrusion.
