What Does The Cadillac P1640 Code Mean?

Engine started; and the PCM detected an unexpected “high” voltage condition on the ignition feed circuit (Circuit 639) for Output Driver Module 1 circuit during the CCM test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1640 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • Generator is over charging – check the generator output
  • Generator ‘L’ terminal is loose (an intermittent fault)
  • PCM has failed
