OVERVIEWWhat Does The Audi P1340 Code Mean?
Engine started, battery voltage at least 11.5v, all electrical components off, ground connections between engine and chassis well connected, and the ECM detected the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft sensor were out of sequence with each other.
Note: The Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor detects engine speed and reference marks. Without an engine speed signal, the engine will not start. If the engine speed signal fails while the engine is running, the engine will stop immediately.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The Audi P1340 Code?
- Engine speed sensor has failed or is contaminated (metal filings)
- Engine speed sensor’s wheel is damaged
- Engine speed sensor circuit is shorted to the cable shield
- Engine speed sensor circuit is open
- ECM is faulty
- Camshaft position sensor is faulty
