What Does The Cadillac P1642 Code Mean?

Engine runtime over 10 seconds and the PCM detected an unexpected “low” voltage on the VSS Output Line for 2.5 seconds during the CCM test. DTC P1642 is used to monitor the fault line of the VSS output signal circuit.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1642 Code?

  • VSS output signal circuit is open, shorted to ground or to B+
  • PCM has failed
