What Does The Cadillac P1221 Code Mean?

Key in crank or run position TP Sensor 1 (TP1) and TP Sensor 2 (TP2) more than 15% for 140 ms, and the PCM detected the TP2 signal disagreed with the TP1 signal by more than 7.5% for 1 second.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1221 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • TP2 sensor connector is contaminated, dirty or contains water
  • TP2 sensor signal, ground or VREF circuit has high resistance
  • TP2 sensor VREF circuit has a high resistance condition
  • TP2 sensor ground circuit has a high resistance condition
