What Does The Cadillac P1171 Code Mean?

Engine started, engine runtime over 20 seconds in closed loop, ECT sensor more than 70ºF, Decel Fuel Cutoff inactive, Power Enrichment mode enabled, and the PCM detected the HO2S was lean for 3 seconds.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1171 Code?

  • Fuel filter clogged or restricted
  • Fuel injectors dirty or restricted
  • Fuel level too low during heavy acceleration events
  • Fuel pressure regulator has failed (not supplying enough fuel)
  • Water or alcohol in fuel (low HO2S signal during acceleration)
