What Does The Acura P1171 Code Mean?

Conditions for setting this DTC:

DTC P0131, P0132, P0133, P0134 and P1133 not set, ECT sensor more than 140ºF, engine running in Power Enrichment mode in closed loop, and the PCM detected the HO2S-11 signal indicated less than 400 mv for 5 seconds during the Fuel System Monitor test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Acura P1171 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • Air intake leaks in the engine, or in the PCV system (valve)
  • Air leaks at the EGR gasket, or at the EGR valve diaphragm
  • Base engine “mechanical” fault affecting one or more cylinders
  • Exhaust leaks before or near where the front HO2S is mounted
