What Does The BMW P1624 Code Mean?

The engine’s warm up performance is monitored by comparing measured coolant temperature with the modeled coolant temperature to detect a defective coolant thermostat that is reading false.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The BMW P1624 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • Check for low coolant level or incorrect coolant mixture
  • DME detects a short circuit wiring in the ECT
  • CHT sensor is out-of-calibration or it has failed
  • ECT sensor is out-of-calibration or it has failed
  • Replace the thermostat
