OVERVIEWWhat Does The Acura P1790 Code Mean?
This code indicates the condition that key on or engine running; and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the TP sensor signal circuit to the TCM.
Note:
- The lockup clutch does not engage when this code is set.
- The D4 lamp on the dash will flash 3 times if this code is set
What Are The Potential Causes Of The Acura P1790 Code?
Below are some potential causes of this DTC:
- TP sensor signal circuit to the TCM is open
- TP sensor signal circuit to the TCM is shorted to ground
- TP sensor signal circuit to the TCM is shorted to VREF
- TP sensor connector is disconnected or damaged
- TCM or PCM has failed
