What Does The Acura P1163 Code Mean?

Engine at idle speed, then accelerated to 55 mph for 5 seconds, then back to idle speed for 5 seconds, and the PCM detected the A/F sensor response time was too slow, or the rich-lean or lean-rich response switch rate was too slow during the HO2S Monitor

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Acura P1163 Code?

  • A/F sensor may be contaminated or may have failed
  • Fuel supply system is too lean (exhaust leaks in front of LAF)
  • Fuel supply system is too rich (fuel filter is clogged or dirty)
  • PCM has failed
  • TSB 01-038 (10/29/01) contains a repair procedur
