What Does The Acura B1959 Code Mean?

Poor communication between the rear MICU and the Relay Control Module.

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A. If DTCs B1005, B1058, B1959, B2162, and/or B2970 are all indicated, perform the Relay Control Module input test. If no codes are present, perform the rear MICU input test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Acura B1959 Code?

  • Loose or poor connections between the rear MICU and the relay control module.
  • Blown fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
  • Blown fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • “Open” or “Short” Condition between the rear MICU and the Relay Control Module
  • Faulty Relay Control Module
  • Faulty Rear MICU, replace the rear fuse/relay box.
