What Does The Acura B1956 Code Mean?

Poor Communication between the rear MICU and the Gauge Control Module. If DTCs B1011, B1061, and B1906 also indicated, perform the gauge control module input test. If no additional codes are present, perform, the rear MICU input test.

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Acura B1956 Code?

  • Loose or poor connections between the rear MICU and the Gauge Control Module
  • Blown fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
  • Blown fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • “Open” or “Short” Condition between the ear MICU and the Gauge Control Module
  • Faulty Gauge Control Module
