What Does The Acura B1356 Code Mean?

This code indicates poor communication between the Power Tailgate Control Unit and the drivers MPCS Unit.

Note: If DTCs B1013, B1015, B1065, B1182, and B1905 are also indicated, perform the driver’s MPCS unit input test. If no other codes are present, perform the power tailgate control unit input test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Acura B1356 Code?

Below are some possible causes of this DTC:

  • Loose or poor connections between the Power Tailgate Control Unit and the MICU
  • Blown fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
  • Blown fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • “Open” or “Short” between the Power Tailgate Control Unit and the MICU
  • Faulty Power Tailgate Control Unit
  • Faulty MICU
