What Does The Acura B1158 Code Mean?

This code indicates poor communication between the Gauge Control Module and the Relay Control Module.

Note: If DTCs B1005, B1959, B2162, and/or B2970 are also indicated, perform the Relay Control Module input test. If no additional codes are present, perform the Gauge Control Module input test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Acura B1158 Code?

Below are some possible causes of this DTC:

  • Loose or poor connections between the Gauge Control Module and the Relay Control Module
  • Blown fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
  • Blown fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • “Open” or “Short” to ground at the Gauge Control Module
  • “Open” or “Short” to ground at the Relay Control Module
  • Faulty Gauge Control Module
  • Faulty Relay Control Module
