- EGR stepper motor 1 control circuit open or shorted to ground
- EGR stepper motor 1 power circuit is open to the Main Relay
- EGR stepper motor 1 is damaged or has failed
- PCM has failed (EGR stepper motor 1 “driver” circuit is open)
