What Does The Chrysler P1799 Code Mean?

Engine started; vehicle driven to a speed over 30 mph in Drive, and the TCM detected A Manual Shift Overheat condition was present.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Chrysler P1799 Code?

  • TFT Sensor signal circuit is open
  • TFT Sensor ground circuit is open
  • TFT Sensor signal circuit is shorted to ground
  • TFT Sensor signal circuit is shorted to VREF (5v)
  • TFT Sensor signal not correct for the ATF fluid temperature
  • Speed Sensor signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • Speed Sensor signal circuit is shorted to system power
  • TCM oil temperature Sensor high or low circuit has failed
