What Does The Chevrolet P1483 Code Mean?

ECT sensor under 230ºF at startup, or with the ECT sensor under 219ºF, engine load, IAT sensor, engine speed and VSS within a specific range.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Chevrolet P1483 Code?

  • Cooling system problem (check for restricted radiator airflow)
  • Coolant level is too low or the coolant mixture is not correct
  • ECT sensor or the IAT sensor is out-of-calibration or “skewed”
  • Thermostat is damaged or has failed
