What Does The Chevrolet P1442 Code Mean?

Key on, engine off, Purge solenoid inhibit criteria met, and the PCM detected the EVAP Purge Vacuum Switch indicated a high state (i. e. , switch stuck open indicating high vacuum).

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Chevrolet P1442 Code?

  • EVAP vacuum switch signal circuit is shorted to ground
  • EVAP switch ground circuit is open (test ground at the switch)
  • EVAP vacuum switch is damaged, or the PCM has failed
