What Does The Chevrolet P1189 Code Mean?

Engine started, ECT sensor less than 50ºF at last key off, and the PCM detected an open EOP switch circuit for 10 seconds.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Chevrolet P1189 Code?

  • EOP switch circuit is open between the sensor and the PCM
  • Engine oil pressure switch is damaged (possible open circuit)
  • PCM has failed
