OVERVIEWWhat Does The BMW P1885 Code Mean?
Engine running and vehicle driven, the DME detected a mechanical malfunction within the transmission. The ratio of the input speed minus the output speed is greater than the threshold value. The output speed is greater than 300rpm.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The BMW P1885 Code?
Below are some potential causes of this DTC:
- Solenoid valves in valve body are faulty
- Solenoid circuit is shorting to ground
- Solenoid circuit is open
- TCM has failed or wiring is shorting
- Mechanical malfunction in transmission
