What Does The Audi P1558 Code Mean?

Engine started, battery voltage at least 11.5v, all electrical components off, ground connections between engine and chassis well connected, coolant temperature at least 80-degrees Celicius and the throttle valve must not be damaged or dirty; and the ECM detected the signal from the Throttle Position Valve Module to the ECM detected was erratic, non existent or unreliable (too high or too low).

  • Throttle valve control module has failed
  • Throttle valve control module’s circuit has shorted or is open
  • The ECM has failed
