What Does The Audi P1288 Code Mean?

This code is set in this condition:

Engine started, battery voltage at least 11.5v, all electrical components off, ground connections between engine and chassis well connected, coolant temperature at least 80-degrees Celsius. The ECM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the bypass valve circuit.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Audi P1288 Code?

  • Charge air system check for leaks
  • Recirculating valve for turbocharger is faulty
  • Turbocharging system may be damaged
  • Vacuum diagram for turbocharger needs adjusting
